Mac Chang is a conductor, music teacher and violinist with nearly 30 years’ experience in performing and teaching. A violinist with international repute, Mac has performed with many big names including Jeremy Monteiro and Leo Ku Kui­ Kei, in high-key venues including the lstana for various prestigious events. He is renowned in the sphere for his invigorating musicality and honed technique.

At  his  core, Mac  is  a  passionate  educator.  He obtained Suzuki Method {Violin) Advance Teaching Certificate in 1995 under the guidance of Mr Nakamura (Honorary) President International  Suzuki  Association.  He is  a  key  committee member  in the Singapore  International String Conference, which offers opportunities  for  string  players to meet with and learn from each other. He has sowed the seeds for his vast alumni of students, launching and guiding them in their lifetime music journey.

His love for teaching propelled him to found Mac’s Music School. The school is grounded in Mac’s distinctive and rational teaching philosophy. Mac believes that music should not be confined to the classroom; he believes music making is developed through performance. This philosophy is the foundation of Mac’s Music School, as an education hub providing students many opportunities to be inspired and motivated. Currently, he is Principal of Mac’s Music School.
