Daisy graduated Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of the Philippines College of Music and went straight to teaching at the Ateneo de Manila Grade School. She finished the coursework towards a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from the Ateneo de Manila University before receiving one summer of Kodály training at the Holy Names College (Oakland, CA), She is one of the first graduates of the Kodály Summer Certificate Course in Manila, having trained with Ed Bolkovac, Piroska Varga, Judit Hartyányi and Miriam Factora. She recently finished Secondary Level II at the Cuskelly College of Music in Brisbane, Australia. She has taught Primary, Middle and Junior High School Music at the Ateneo Grade School and Ateneo Junior High School since 1986 and handles the Ateneo Boys Choir. She has facilitated seminars in Kodály Methodology in different parts of the Philippines, including Sultan Kudarat, Legazpi City, Ifugao, Dumaguete City, Ilocos, Bohol and Naga City. She was part of the Philippine delegation that performed and assisted in Dr. Miriam Factora’s presentations during the 18 th International Kodály Symposium in Columbus, Ohio, USA in August 2007. She assisted in crafting the program for the Master of Arts in Music Education with Emphasis in Kodály Teaching at the Philippine Women’s University in Manila and is also the program’s first graduate. Currently, Daisy teaches Grades 2 and 5 at the Ateneo de Manila Grade School. She is also past President of the Kodály Society of the Philippines.
