Maurizio Bovero graduated in Classical Guitar with a dissertation on Albeniz and Granados transcriptions for two guitars by Miguel Llobet and in Gregorian Music at Turin State Conservatory of Music. He moreover studied at Political Sciences Faculty where he graduates with a dissertation on Theodor Wiesengrund Adorno Philosophy and Sociology of Music, under the guide of Enrico Fubini, professor of Musical Aesthetics. In the meantime he dedicated himself to a path in musical Pedagogy, attending to several courses on Historical Methodologies of XX century (Kodály, Dalcroze, Orff, WIllems…).
He obtained, in 1997, after a two-year course in Italy, with teachers of Pedagogical Institute under the guide of Klara Nemes, the Special Certificate during the XIX International Kodály Seminar at the “Z. Kodály Pedagogical Institute of Music” in Kecskemét
(Hungary). He studied Choral Conducting and vocal technique in a biennial course under the guide of Claudio Chiavazza with the teachers R. Colombatto. G. Cucci, R. Guidi, L. Pagliarini, R. Spremulli and Kurt Suttner at School of Conducting and vocal technique of Corale di Sommariva del Bosco (CN). He hold regularly Courses and Seminars on Music Pedagogy, collaborating with State Conservatories, Ministry of Public Education and other organizations. He takes part in working group at M.I.U.R. (Ministry of Public Education) on Musical Education in Italy, as a member of National Music Education Forum (which gathers all the main Pedagogical Associations as SIEM, AIKEM (Kodály), OSI (Orff), AIGAM (Gordon), AIJD (Dalcroze), Music in crib…). He is, moreover, tutor designed by Ministry for Music in Primary School (DM8/11 project). He took part in several Conferences organized by Universities, as MUSIK DES 20. JAHRHUNDERTS ALS RESSOURCE FÜR DIESCHULE, at Bolzano University , and by M.I.U.R., as Music…otto in Turin e Proposte per l’attuazione del DM8 in Rome, whose conference proceedings have been printed. He has an intense activity in teaching from Primary School up to Secondary School with musical specialising, in which he teaches Instrument, Orchestra and Solfège (Vocal based music education).
He is President of AIKEM – Italian Kodály Society and professor of Methodology in Italian Kodály Training. He is professor in “Biennial Pedagogical Master Degree Kodály Inspired” at Benedetto Marcello State Conservatory of Venezia.
