Sarah Landis is a classroom music teacher and Head of Preparatory School Music at the Anglican Church Grammar School, a boys’ school in Brisbane, Australia. Sarah has extensive experience working in different school contexts, including single-sex schools (all boys and all girls) and co-educational schools, in metropolitan and regional areas, and has taught students from 4 to 18 years old. Sarah initially gained a performance degree in classical voice before studying education. She first learned violin at the age of three through the Suzuki method, then branched out to piano and cello, amongst other instruments. She recently completed a Masters of Evaluation. Conducting school and community choirs and directing community theatre productions, Sarah believes in the value of music as a tool for community engagement at all ages. Sarah is a regular presenter at national and international conferences and has a special interest in applying the concepts of a sequential, aural-based methodology in all areas of music education.
